About the Artist

KéKé Cribbs is one of the few artists that uses the ancient technique of firing vitreous enamels onto glass in a kiln. She has developed her own specialized approach to layering colors in multiple firings on the reverse side of the glass.
Although the paintings are filled with texture and pattern on the reverse side, the surface of the work remains smooth on the surface, trapping refracted light in such a way as to make the paintings seem illuminated from the inside.

Additionally, some of the fired sheets of glass are cut into tiny Mosaic pieces, used for both her sculptural work, and the newer mini "Samplers".

The "Samplers" are a line of small affordable glass Mosaic paintings which have been created to allow the general public to experience the wonders of
Reverse Fired enamels; each one is completely different ... like flavored chocolates in a box that need to be tasted one by one. This brings joy to both the artist and the audience and makes the work more accessible to a larger number of people.
All the work is original and signed by the artist.
